Lokal-int is also a social platform that promotes the dialogue between artists and the public. Situated in a former kiosk the space works as a  vitrine with an emanation on public space and provides an insight into realities and concerns of the art scene. Artists are invited to Lokal-int on a weekly basis. Every Thursday an Opening of a new artistic intervention takes place. On the one hand it is the local art scene of Biel that builts the base of Lokal-int’s activities, on the other hand it represents a kind of satellite for artists from different parts of Switzerland and abroad. Between april 2006 and april 2008 62 exhibitions took place at Lokal-int. Mostly from representatives of visual arts, but as a certain mix of genres is requested , also writers and experimental musicians are part of the scene.
